I was taking picture of the bird, but this bee just happens to fly by. It did not attack the bird. I think that made an interesting picture. Have a good week end. Je photographiais l’oiseau quand l’abeille a passée. Elle n’a pas attaquée l’oiseau. Je crois que ca fait une photo intéressante. Bonne fin de semaine.

HUMMINGBIRD HAWKMOTH - (MACROGLOSSUM STELLATARUM) - COLIBRI SPHINX

We saw this during an outing on Sunday and part of my reseach on Wikipedia is this: The Hummingbird Hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum) is a species of hawk moth with a long proboscis, and regularly hovers, making an audible humming noise. These two features make it look remarkably like a hummingbird when it feeds on flowers. It flies during the day, especially in bright sunshine, but also at dusk, dawn, and even in the rain, which is unusual for even diurnal hawkmoths. Its visual abilities have been much studied, and it has been shown to have a relatively good ability to learn colours.
Nous avons vu ceci dimanche lors d'une sortie, voici une partie de ce que j'ai trouvé sur Wikipedia: Le moro sphinx ou sphinx colibri (Macroglossum stellatarum) est un insecte appartenant à l'ordre lépidoptère hétéroptère/hétérocère, de la famille des Sphingidae. C'est une des rares espèces diurnes de sa famille. Le moro sphinx possède une très longue trompe pour butiner les fleurs, souvent violettes ou blanches, en vol stationnaire comme les oiseaux-mouches. Il butine généralement le nectar des fleurs que les autres insectes ne peuvent atteindre. Il aime la sauge. Son vol est d'une précision et d'une rapidité peu communes.
